Why live in Chilliwack?
Chilliwack is a thriving city of 75,000 people in the
eastern section of the beautiful Fraser Valley region
of southern British Columbia. The city has a great community
spirit, a city with a small town attitude. It is surrounded
by fertile farms and snow capped mountains. The recreational
opportunities are endless. Exciting fishing and boating
opportunities await in the Fraser River, as well as
the Chilliwack and Vedder Rivers. The city has the finest
recreational facilities available with the recent opening
of new ice rinks and swimming pools. Also the Heritage
Park exhibition buildings and grounds are home to a
continuous variety of trade shows.
The weather in Chilliwack is typical for the southern
west coast of British Columbia. Mild winters with occasional
snow falls and warm dry summers. Living here places
you much closer to the recreational opportunities offered
in the vast interior of the province.
It would be difficult to find a better setting to raise
your family or to retire in than that afforded by the
beauty of Chilliwack.
Why Live in Ford Creek?
Ford Creek is one of the first communities to be built
in the newly serviced Eastern Hillsides of Chilliwack.
All of the modern services are available including sanitary
sewer, city water, underground Hydro power, natural
gas, phone and cable.
Ford Creek is close enough to the city to benefit from
all of its services, but far away to have its own unique
sense of community.
Ford Creek is a relatively small development with a
total of 62 new homes. It is bordered to the south by
the pristine Ford Creek. The challenging, beautiful
and increasingly well known golf community of “The
Falls” is on the other side of the creek and steps
up the adjacent hill sides. Many recreational opportunities
are very nearby including Minter Gardens, Trans Canada
Water Slides, as well as the resort community of Harrison
Hot Srings on pristine Harrison Lake.
Immediately to the North is the new Unity Christian
High School. A beautiful new facility with expansive
play ground. Access to the freeway is very convenient
by way of the Annis exit. From here you are only a 10
minute’s drive from downtown Chilliwack, perhaps
closer than many areas of Promontory Heights.
Ford Creek has a gently rolling terrain with a variety
of building sites. Some offer back yards on Ford Creek
itself. Others have spectacular views to the west so
you can watch the sun set. Lots come in many shapes
and sizes allowing for a variety of prices, from affordable
smaller homes to large executive homes.
Who is building the Homes?
Other than on a few lots that have been sold, all homes
will be built by Kingma Brother Developments Ltd., a
local builder with decades of experience in building
residential communities. To learn more about this well
established and respected builder return to our home
page.
How do I buy a Home in Ford Creek?
As you may know, the current real estate market in
the Fraser Valley is extremely busy. This makes it difficult
for us to build custom homes at this time. We have chosen
many fine plans to be built in Ford Creek. Some are
being built right now. When the foundation is in the
ground and the framing starts we will put the house
on the market at a certain price and it can be purchased
at that time. Individual lots will not be for sale.
What kind of houses are to be built?
We will be building a variety of homes. These will
include two storey homes on basements and crawl spaces,
basement entry homes and ranchers on basements and crawl
spaces. We will be using many exterior design and architectural
features. These will include the use of stone, natural
shingles, board and batten wood and vinyl siding. All
roofs will be 30 year fiberglass. Our decorators have
already chosen the colours and materials to be used
on the exterior of each home to be built. We want all
exteriors to compliment each other with extensive use
of traditional design features. Purchasers will have
the opportunity to choose the interior colours and materials
if there is still time when the sale is made.
The interior of these homes will feature fine quality
details. These may include 9 foot high ceilings, extensive
use of ceiling cove moldings, header moldings, 4”
baseboard, hardwood floors, maple cabinetry and wrought
iron railings.
What are the prices?
New homes will be listed with Scott Hrusik of Remax
Nyda Realty in Chilliwack. For more information on listed
houses call Scott at 604-792-7175
How do I get there?
Take the # 1 Freeway east of Chilliwack about 4 km.
When you get to the Annis Rd. exit take the off ramp.
Go directly over Annis and head back east. It will look
like you’ll be getting back on the freeway, but
instead take Hack Brown Rd. off to the right. There
is a Ford Creek sign clearly marking the direction.
Head east on Hack Brown for 500 metres or so. You’ll
see the Ford Creek entrance on the right. The name of
the main new road heading into the development is “Unity
Drive”.
Thanks for your interest in Ford Creek
